ABOUT RIVALS 4 GOOD
On October 4th, 2024 Knightstown will play Tri High at Dennis Gipe field in Straughn, Indiana. As both schools are historical rivals, in this inaugural matchup partnering with Rivals4good both schools will be striving toward a new goal of empowering the healthy side of rivalries. Rivals4good has met with Knightstown and Tri High administrators, coaches, parents and student athletes.
Our aim is to foster the following 4 Good Promises in our young student athletes.
Good sportsmanship
Good Safety
Good Competition
Good Causes.
This new initiative is starting in the fall of 2024 and is already gaining momentum. At the October 4th game, we will read the 4 Good promises together and play the designated rivalry game for 2 great causes. We will collect donations at the game and the winning team’s chosen non-profit will receive 70% of the money raised while the losing team’s non-profit will receive 30% of the money raised.
It will be a win/win opportunity for our young athletes and our community. We will be teaching our young student athletes the value of their opponents and the leadership power they have to make a difference in their own community now and in the future.
Our hope is this demonstration of community leadership will help unify our students and help point our country back in the direction of unifying around others less fortunate in our communities. Our vision is to see healthy rival games spread to more schools helping more communities through generosity into our non-profits.
